(AAPL) has been asked not to advertise its Power Mac G5 as "the world's fastest personal computer" in the U.K. The Advertising Standards Authority, an industry watchdog, said that after taking expert advice it believed the Power Mac G5 wasn't the fastest machine for applications. In addition, the body said test data provided by Apple to back up the U.S. company's claims 'seemed to be configured in a way that might have given the Power Mac G5 an unfair advantage.' The body has requested Apple not to repeat the claim." [ Posted at 2:42 PM | Permalink ]
