If you're looking for the blog, please head there. --Paul Tuesday, September 20, 2005Apple finally enhances .MacWell, I've complained about Apple's uncompetitive .Mac service, and they've finally fixed it. Here's what's changed.1 GB of storage. Apple raised the email and Web storage space from a woeful 256 MB to a decent 1 GB. This was clearly the biggest problem with the old .Mac. .Mac Groups. .Mac now includes a new blog-like service called Groups that lets you post announcements and messages, display photos, share group calendars, and find other members. I haven't tested it yet, but it appears to be a decent first step. Learn more. Backup 3. Finally, Apple's Backup program has been upgraded to include iLife backups and other functionality. Learn more. The biggest question, of course, is whether all this is worth $99 a year. Sadly, it is not. But I'm happy that Apple's making the service more competitive.
