Mac Q1 2007 market share

So Apple released its quarterly results today and, as expected, they're looking good. The company sold 1.517 million Mac computers in the quarter, so we can now calculate their market share for the first quarter of 2007, using the overall PC market share figures I discussed previously.

The Mac accounted for 2.49 percent of all computers worldwide in the first quarter of 2007.

This is along the lines of the modest gains I had expected. In Q4 2006, the Mac controlled 2.4 percent of the market. Overall, in 2006, the Mac represented 2.41 percent of the market worldwide. In 2005, it was 2.28 percent.

Steady as she goes.
